Persona Poems
March 2004

This page was last updated on: May 16, 2004

"A persona poem is a poem written in the first person, in which a writer imagines him/herself to be an animal, an object, or a famous person - anyone or anything she or he is not."

We each prepared a 15 line poem, choosing an animal, object, or person for each line, and told why we made those choices. We practiced using a Thesaurus, and found some very grown-up synonyms! We hope you enjoy our interesting and creative perspectives!
